Sometimes even after your child listens and you teach them to the best of your ability, then still do not follow your advice, it is not your fault. Your child is his or her own person and makes their own decisions. If they make the wrong decisions, being a parent, please help and love your child enough to stand by them and help them to recover and to not continue this abuse and or misuse. A parent's love is unconditional. Drugs are all around. There is no shield to stop or prevent your child from delving into this downward spiral of drugs. But you can educate them to the fullest.
